Dr Crane’s shoe list March 2019 edition

The list is helpful if you know what kind of running shoes are best for you. Here are some specific recommendations from my favorite shoe line.

I personally run in the Brooks Transcend 6 currently. I’ve always been a fan of their moderate stability but cloud-like feeling right out of the box. I am a moderate over-pronator due to having a very flexible foot type. These shoes are built to last and as you can see in my pile of shoes, I had 12 pairs of them before the closet purge.

My daughter Caitlin (the college runner) likes the versatility of the fan favorite Brooks Adrenaline. A light stability shoe made for just about everyone. This really is the GTS which stands for Go To Shoe! It fits the majority of people and has a guide rail system that gives you stability when and where you need it but doesn’t over compensate.

And just for family completeness, my 78-year-old Mom loves the incredibly responsive Brooks Ghost. It comes in lots of fun colors, even all black. It is an awesome neutral shoe for light runners, a woman with high arches and definitely walkers. Very cushioned and durable.

If you are a heavier runner with a relatively flat foot, you want to try the Brooks Ariel. It’s a motion control shoe meant for pounding the pavement. Many of my patients completely cure their shin splints by just switching to the Ariel.

Run Happy! And be fabulous!!
