Girl Wash Your Face

by Rachel Hollis

This book cracked me up, but also got me to look inside myself and see a lot of the lies that I have been believing for years. It was like a look in the mirror.

I digress. Rachel is the developer of TheChicSite.com and has amassed an immense online community by sharing tips for better living while simultaneously revealing the messiness that is her life.

In this book, she exposes and reveals what she believes to be the top twenty lies and misconceptions that too often hold us back from living our best joyful and productive lives. And the kicker is that we’ve told ourselves these lies so often that we really don’t even hear them anymore.

Hilarious and to the point, I feel like she’s writing about all of us. It’s like she dove into the younger Me’s brain and replayed all of the mantras of my youth that sadly some of which I have to admit I still believe.

Example: Chapter Two: The Lie: I’ll Start Tomorrow. Sound familiar? Doesn’t matter what we are talking about; a diet, an exercise program, a new job hunt, the great American novel……

This book will help you get back on track to living your best life. Bottom line: in her words: “Stop believing the lies about who you are so you can become who you were meant to be.”

It’s a quick read that will make you laugh, might offend you, but will make you think. And it’s never to late the rewrite your story.
