We all want to be better. Most of us strive to be the best versions of ourselves. The problem is that getting to this point can be difficult when you have so little time and energy left in a typical day.

We want to begin working out or turn up our routines. We want to build a home business for a side-hustle or extra income. We want to rehab our eating habits to be more healthy. Attempting to start a substantial new workout regime or set up a home business or go vegan will often just be met with resistance, failure, and disappointment. You are overwhelmed, so things go south fast. These are massive changes that you hope to enact, and very often, we don’t have the energy or time to make them happen.

Instead of giving up on improving yourself because you are so intimidated by the process, why not start very small and then let those little changes add up to a better you?

Here are ten tiny improvements you can make to your life right now. Believe me. These little changes add up to a better you!

  1. Make Your Bed in the Morning. What a great way to “train” your willpower and improve the bed you come home to that evening. You will feel like you accomplished something first thing in the morning. You’ll even sleep better!
  2. Wake Up Ten Minutes Earlier. What could you do with ten more minutes in your day? Just move your clock ten minutes earlier, you’ll hardly notice the difference. It will decrease your stress by giving you just a little extra time to get organized in the morning.
  3. Take an Omega 3 Fatty Acid Supplement. Omega 3 Fatty Acids boost brain function, energy, immunity, and more. It also helps to fight inflammation. Most of us don’t get enough of it.
  4. Sit Outside. If you sit outside at least five minutes a day, you will notice a difference. You’ll sleep better, boost vitamin D, get more fresh air, and even improve your temperature regulation and immune system. Try doing something you already do but move it outside – like walk for exercise. Even better, walk a nature trail. It calms the soul.
  5. Meditate for Five Minutes. Meditation has HUGE and profound benefits. It’s also something that can be a hard practice to start and sustain. Start with just five minutes a day. That’s actually enough to see improvements in mood, focus, and more.
  6. Drink More Water. It would help if you were drinking half your body weight in ounces of water each day. Start your day with 16 ounces first thing in the morning. You’ll look slimmer, look better, and feel more energetic. Most of us are permanently dehydrated.
  7. Get New Shoes. Or a watch. Or a dress. In short – make one small change to improve the way you look. You’ll feel better, walk taller, and people will treat you differently.
  8. Breathe With Your Mouth Closed. Don’t be that mouth breather! If you don’t already, make this a commitment. You’ll find it improves your looks, and it helps to filter air better and enhance the oxygen coming in.
  9. Do 20 Push Ups Every Day. A burst of exercise will boost your energy levels, tone your abs, increase your upper body strength, and serve as the basis for a more extensive strength training program.
  10. Floss Your Teeth. A small thing that not only makes your teeth cleaner and whiter but reduced the risk of oral infections, tooth decay, cancer, and more!

These ten small steps will get you on the road to being 1% better every day. Small improvements add up!
