We are a nation of stressed-out individuals. There never seems to be enough time to get everything done. The to-do list is endless. For many years, I was on this same hamster wheel. I found myself spending all my energy and time just trying to keep up. There are significant physical ramifications of severe stress, and sadly, I experienced many of them.

Does this sound like you? Let me help you find a solution to your chronic stress.

One of the most effective tools that I have found to mitigate my stress is meditation. Forget the vision that just popped in your head of Buddhist monks chanting in funny positions, although that is a valid form of meditation.

Meditation can be used daily for introspection and mindfulness, helping you distribute your stress and find peace in your life. It’s incredible how, in just a few short meditation sessions, you can change your attitude towards your daily routine and find inner peace.

In this e-book, I have included an overview of the various forms of meditation, discuss who should meditate, investigate the well- documented health benefits, and then give you some simple how-to tips on how to incorporate meditation in your daily lives.

Remember that meditation is an approach to training the mind, similar to the way that fitness is an approach to teaching the body. “In the Buddhist tradition, the word ‘meditation’ is equivalent to a word like ‘sports’ in the U.S. It’s a family of activities, not a single thing,” and different meditation practices require different mental skills.

When we meditate, we inject far-reaching and long-lasting benefits into our lives. We lower our stress levels, get to know our pain, connect better, improve our focus, and we’re kinder to ourselves. Let me walk you through the basics in our new mindful guide on how to meditate to help you relieve the stress in your life.

When we pay attention to our breath in mindfulness, we are learning how to return to and remain in the present moment. We anchor ourselves in the here and now on purpose, without judgment.

While meditation isn’t a cure-all for all of the stressors in your life, it can certainly provide some much-needed peace. Sometimes, that’s all we need to ward off the crazy and make better choices for ourselves, our families, and our communities. The essential tools you need to bring to your meditation practice are a little patience, some kindness for yourself, and a comfortable place to sit.
